About Beamology
Behind Beamology are two Dunedin locals with a passion for technology, problem-solving and great service.
The idea started during a car restoration project. We needed to remove rust and cut a few custom parts, but quickly found that getting small laser jobs done in Dunedin was harder than it should be. Many providers were focused on larger production work, and smaller custom projects were often pushed aside.
With more than 20 years of combined experience in CNC machining, laser technology, CAD and CAM, we decided to build the kind of service we were looking for ourselves. Beamology was created to make laser cutting, engraving and cleaning more accessible, practical and easy to work with — whether you need a one-off custom part, a restoration solution or ongoing production support.

Is there a minimum order quantity?
We are happy to help with jobs of all sizes, including one-off pieces and small production runs.
What materials can be laser engraved?
Laser engraving can be used on many materials, including wood, acrylic, glass, leather, metals, and plastics.
What file format do you need for cutting and engraving?
Vector files are usually preferred, such as SVG, DXF, AI, EPS, or PDF. If you do not have a ready-to-cut file, we can help prepare your design.
